Body Language in all types of relationships
Reviewing the body language video by Amy Cuddy.
From her speech and presentation, Amy was very delightful and well educated on the subject of body language.
When she spoke of having her injury and wanting to give up really got my attention. Having a life changing accident occur and never getting back to your normal routine and missing so much on knowledge. I feel that she did a tremendous job on overcoming her fear of never continuing school. She pushed through and held on despite the facts of her incident that accrued.
Through her presentation she pointed out everyday things that we do with our bodies. We never really focus on what we do, or the vibe we give off until its being brought to our attention. Examples would be going on a first date; of appearance, attitude, posture, gestures and facial features. All the verbal and nonverbal reactions we give off, tells a lot in a way that person is feeling.
I know for myself when I'm in class I want to have a good relationship with my professor. I do not want to give a bad impression or let off the wrong signs. Example; like laying my head down on the desk, looking into space and maybe playing with something unimportant. Making sure that my attention is focused on the speaker, making eye contact and really paying attention.
